As simple as that. Now, we will try to explain it, so it becomes clear what we want to achieve.
By "artistical world simulator", we mean a populated enviroment. This enviroment is, somehow, active, it produces sensations, sent to the population of that enviroment which is able to get them. When such a being comes to the enviroment, it registers there as an observer, so the enviroment can send it the perceptions, the observations.
Then, depending on the life cycles of the different beings, they will process those observations to build their own personality, build certain products, use then as raw material to build the foundations of their conscience ("conscience" is here a quite pretentious word, but that's what the beings should have).
